If you are not acting on behalf of a YEGisHome.ca advertiser, you may not receive or use any data that has been obtained from or is in any way connected to a YEGisHome.ca ad.
You may not use YEGisHome.ca advertising data for any other purpose than assessing the performance and effectiveness of your YEGisHome.ca advertising campaign. You may not use this information to build a user or REALTOR® profile for the purposes of direct advertising or solicitation.
You may only use users’ information if it has been directly provided to you with those users’ expressed consent, and if you comply with all applicable laws and industry guidelines while obtaining and using this information.
You may not directly or indirectly share, transfer, or sell any data to any party not acting on behalf of a YEGisHome.ca advertiser and the advertiser’s advertising campaigns without the expressed permission and knowledge of that advertiser.
2. Ad Creative
All components of an ad must be relevant and appropriate to the product or service being offered. Ads may not contain sexual, controversial, or otherwise offensive content. Neither the artwork nor ad copy can be: misleading, inaccurate, deceitful, hateful, racist, pornographic, anti-competitive, referring to anything illegal, having shock value, or harassing.
All ad copy will be scanned for inappropriate words. All copy should be written to include proper spelling and grammar. The automatic editor may make minor corrections to misspelled words or incorrect grammar. Administration will review all ads and reject inappropriate (or poor-quality) images or text. Minimum image size is 200 (h) x 250 (w). Maximum image size is 1333 (h) x 1600 (w).
Ads must clearly represent the brand, product, service, or company that is being advertised. The content of a webpage reached from clicking an ad button must relate directly to the artwork and ad copy on the ad button.
The destination site may not link to any questionable, offensive, or prohibited product or service. The destination site must be a functioning page that does not prohibit or otherwise impede a user’s ability to leave the page.
3. Ad Content
All ads must comply with applicable national and international laws and regulations.
Ads to recruit REALTORS® for any service, excluding the sale or purchase of a residential unit as defined by the REALTORS® Association of Edmonton, are not permitted on the YEGisHome.ca Website.
Advertising will not be accepted for specific products including but not limited to: sexual services, tobacco products or paraphernalia, illegal or unregulated drugs or paraphernalia, firearms, ammunition, liquor products, and gambling devices or products. However, advertising for a business that sells such products may be acceptable (e.g. liquor stores, gunsmiths, or casinos) and will be determined by YEGisHome.ca.
Ads promoting subscription services are required to clearly state the product or service’s status as such and the recurring payment required. The subscription rate amount and any information pertaining to subscription cancellation by the user must be clearly visible.
Ads may not contain or link to, whether directly or indirectly, a site that contains spyware, malware, or any downloads or software that will compromise a user’s computer and overall user experience.
Administration reserves the right to accept or reject any advertisement which does not meet minimum community standards. YEGisHome.ca may determine whether content does not meet community standards based on ads or ad categories that receive an excessive amount of negative user feedback or otherwise violate community standards. Such violations are not permitted, and offending content may be removed.
Reproduction of material contained on the YEGisHome.ca Website, in whole or in part, is strictly prohibited without written permission from the Editor.
YEGisHome.ca reserves the right to approve, reject, or approve any ad at any time for any reason.
4. Ad Booking
All advertisers of real estate property must have an appropriate business license (e.g. REALTOR®, builder, contractor, developer) and, if advertising a specific property, the property must have an active listing in the MLS® System.
All residential and rural properties in the Edmonton area listed on the Edmonton and Calgary MLS® Systems will be displayed on the YEGisHome.ca Website.
Advertising prices, discount rates, and ad frequency will be set by YEGisHome.ca Website Administration and will apply to all ads booked after the effective date of the change. Provincial and federal taxes (GST) will be applied to all advertising. Discounts or special pricing will be applied as credits for future advertising.
Ads can be booked in one-week increments up to 26 weeks in advance. Ads run from Monday to Sunday. Ads will be rotated equally through all active ad button spots in a category (neighbourhood).
No REALTOR® (except the listing REALTOR®) can purchase the ad button spot beside a listing on the YEGisHome.ca Website. If the listing REALTOR® buys the ad button beside their listing, only their ad will show in that ad button spot. If the listing REALTOR® does not purchase the ad button spot beside their listing, non-REALTOR® ads will rotate through that ad button spot.
All retail advertising will be paid by credit card at the time of ad creation and approval. Institutional and large advertisers may negotiate other payment methods with YEGisHome.ca Website Administration.
The advertiser agrees to save the publisher from any suit, action, or damage claim arising from the use of advertising copy supplied. This specifically includes plagiarism, infringement of copyright, registered trade name, false advertising, and violations of the Real Estate Act of Alberta and the ethics of the REALTORS® Association of Edmonton and the Alberta Real Estate Association.
In the event of a complaint or action from a member of the public, a REALTOR®, an organization, or a regulating authority, responsibility for an advertisement in the Real Estate Weekly remains with the advertiser. Publication on the YEGisHome.ca Website does not in any way imply acceptance or endorsement of the ad by the REALTORS® Association of Edmonton, and complaints concerning an ad will be handled in the same manner as advertisements placed in other public locations.
